Showing everyone's timeline, hot linking, spell check (that might be a good one?), fancy graphics... when the majority of users just want to quickly update their status. And that's what Threeter does. The name is a joke about the 1-2-3 process.
Press the hotkey combination.
Enter what you're doing. Or did. Or will do. Or...
Press enter, and voyla! Updated.
