BatterEEE is a small application (just 86KB!) to improve the battery metering on Asus` excellent range of EEE laptops, when running Microsoft Windows.
Many users find that the standard Windows battery icon is far too small, and only displays the battery charge as being 0, 33, 66, or 100%. Furthermore, the mouse pointer needs to be held over the icon to display the actual percentage charge remaining.
With the `dumb` batteries fitted to many EEEs, Windows can only estimate the remaining charge to the nearest 10%, and has absolutely no idea how long this will last for. In comparison, BatterEEE uses a much larger, clearer display and offers greatly improved accuracy - battery charge left to 1% (instead of 10%) and run time remaining to 1 minute (instead of not at all!)
Although primarily designed for the Asus EEE range of laptops, BatterEEE should work with any laptop running Windows 2000 or XP, and is particularly useful for those laptops fitted with `dumb` batteries. Even for those laptops fitted with `smart` batteries, BatterEEE provides a greatly improved battery monitor.
BatterEEE was written and tested using an Asus EEE PC701 (WinXP SP2) and an EEE PC900 (Win2K SP4) :o)

- added calibration file picker (create a new file to perform calibration,
load an existing file to use that battery profile)
- added calibration option to main menu (opens file picker)
- added middle-click shortcut to icon (opens calibration file picker)
- disabled alarms during calibration
- drag `n` drop of calibration files now deprecated
- calibration files can now be saved anywhere, not just in current
directory
